It is a 32-minute instrumental concept album based upon Willis George Emerson's 1908 book 'The Smoky God, or a Voyage Journey to the Inner Earth'. Liverpool Irish Festival 2023 has commissioned a song by Úna Quinn and Neil Campbell, 'Those Roads'. It is 175-years since c.1.3m people came, from the island of Ireland, through the gates of Clarence Dock and into Liverpool. Of those, many -c.300,000 stayed and others travelled to far flung corners of the world. Ireland’s population is still to recover from this period of loss.

On Friday 23rd September 2022 Neil Campbell and cellist Nicole Collarbone released a new digital EP, 'Berlin Suite and Other Short Stories', available exclusively on Bandcamp at https://neilcampbell.bandcamp.com/album/berlin-suite-other-short-stories. The 21 minute long EP comprises three pieces for cello and guitar along with two guitar duets.
