After the Flood Album To Be Released

Neil's band with Marty Snape, Roger Gardiner and Viktor Nordberg, After the Flood, releases its self-titled album on Friday 13th July. Launch of the 11 track CD will be marked by a free gig at Liverpool's Constellations (35-39 Greenland St, Liverpool L1 0BS) on Thursday 2nd August from 8-10pm. The album features contributions from vocalists Perri Alleyne-Hughes (Sense of Sound/Perri and Neil), Ian Cantwell and Mark Jones (Zeb). New Solo Album – The Outsider – News from Nowhere

On Mon 26th February, Neil's new CD 'The Outsider - News from Nowhere' will be released. The album is a fresh departure for Neil, unlike anything he has produced before. It is a concept album based on William Morris's 'News from Nowhere'. On it Neil plays classical and acoustic guitars, bass, harpsichord, harmonium and all sorts of percussion, along with guests Laurence Cocchiara (violins) and Helen Maher (accordion). ESTUARY ALBUM LAUNCH AND PERFORMANCE – THURSDAY 18TH MAY (7.30PM)

As part of WOW, Seán Street, Neil Campbell and Perri Alleyne-Hughes will launch their new Estuary CD, a 50-minute album combining spoken poetry, fluid classical guitar textures, atmospheric soundscapes, and beguiling vocals. The special launch performance will include the presentation of an immersive quadrophonic mix of the new album specially created for the event along with projected visuals by artist Peter Dover and live contemporary dance by choreographer Rachel Sweeney. ESTUARY – THURSDAY 18TH MAY 2017, 7.30PM

In 2015, Writing on the Wall (WoW) premiered Estuary, a performance based on Seán Street's poetry of tides, rivers and harbours, with musical settings by Neil Campbell and featuring vocalist Perri Alleyne-Hughes. Two years on, WoW presents a completely new interpretation of the work in collaboration with acclaimed choreographer and dancer, Rachel Sweeney, and with visual realisations by photographer/filmmaker/fine artist Peter Dover. NEIL LAUNCHES NEW EMERGENCE ALBUM

eMErgence (released Mon 9th March) is Neil Campbell’s 16th album. It features nine new compositions which meld elements of progressive rock, jazz fusion and minimalism. This new music is performed by a band that includes long time collaborators vocalists Perri Alleyne-Hughes (Perri and Neil, Sense of Sound) and Anne Taft (Neil Campbell Collective, Ghost Stories), electronics and production maestro Marty Snape (Zeb, Bulbs, Babadub), bassist Roger Gardiner (Dead Poppies, Perri and Neil Quartet) and Norwegian session drummer Viktor Nordberg (Perri and Neil Quartet). GUITARS AND OTHER MACHINES

Classic minimalism meets electronica and experimental rock in this collaboration between three Liverpool (UK) based musicians, Neil Campbell, Carlo Bowry and Gordon Ross, who will be performing concerts later in November (details at the Live section of this site). Alongside solo sets using delays and loop machines, the concert programmes will feature a collaborative composition for classical guitar and electronics, a new arrangement of Philip Glass's beautiful Metamorphosis suite for guitar duet, and an innovative original version of Steve Reich's multiple guitar classic Electric Counterpoint performed on classical guitar using projected visuals. BULBS LAUNCHES ‘ON’

Bulbs launches its eagerly awaited debut album at The Capstone Theatre (17 Shaw Street, Liverpool L6 1HP) with an hour long performance (+ support) which will feature the projection of an entrancing new film specially created by artist Sonny Phillips to accompany the album. Over a year in the making Bulbs new album On is a 12 track tour de force of cyclical time signatures, electronic textures, dark conceptual speech samples and prog melodic-ism. NEIL TO PERFORM AT LIVERPOOL’S IRISH SEA SESSIONS

Neil is delighted to be appearing as part of a star studded line up for Liverpool Irish Festival's Irish Sea Sessions 2013, taking place on Friday 18th October at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall. The sessions will bring together 14 hand-picked multi-instrumentalists and singers from traditional and contemporary music backgrounds, and from both sides of the Irish Sea, to explore the special musical bond between Liverpool and Ireland.
